There are many ways that Palms parents can get directly involved in making Palms the best it can be.:

Join Dr. Moriuchi on Friday, February 22, at 9 am, in the Library for Coffee with the Principal. He'll provide updates on WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), the Title 1 program, and the Communications Magnet program.
Big congratulations to Ms. Carina Garret, history teacher, who was recently awarded the Joseph O'Flaherty Teaching Award by the History Society of Southern California. The award honors "creative excellence in the teaching of history in grades K-12 in the schools of Southern California." We are proud of Ms. Garret for her excellent accomplishments and well-deserved recognition!
Join Superintendent Cheryl P. Hildreth and local district staff on Wednesday, February 13, for a chance to discuss ideas and exchange information.
The meeting will be held at Webster Middle School from 9-11:30 am.

Posted 1/31/19DonorsChoose fundraisers help Palms teachers obtain supplies and equipment for their students.
The recent Empowered Through Pop Art! fundraiser was successfully completed this month, providing supplies for students of Ms. Purdy, and bringing the total raised for Palms through Donorschoose to $16,443.

Posted 1/28/19Due to bad weather and the UTLA Strike, the Friends of Palms monthly meeting scheduled for Friday January 18, 2019, at 8:00am has been canceled.
Coffee with the Principal, which was to follow the meeting, will not take place either.
The cancelation decision was made late Thursday.
The Friends of Palms meeting may be rescheduled, so watch this page for news.
Posted 1/17/19Connecting Cultures at the Los Angeles Central Library
The Connecting Cultures Mobile Museum, which began at Palms Middle School, was one of two dozen selected exhibitors at the Los Angeles Central Library's first-ever Mobile Museum Fair on Sunday, January 13, 2019.
The Connecting Cultures Exhibit at Palms will run from April 2 to April 9, 2019.

There are three Palms donation drives in progress:
- Empowered Through Pop Art! - art supplies to let students of Ms. Purdy transform ordinary newspaper into their own 3D pop art. Click to donate!
- So We Can Read Monster In My Class - books to let students of Mr. Westhoff read culturally relevant stories. Click to donate!
- Chromebooks Needed - computers to help students of Mr. Westhoff access their online curriculum. Click to donate!
To date, Palms teachers have raised $15,8743 through DonorsChoose.

Calling all prospective Palms families. Come and visit our school to learn about all the wonderful programs the school offers and visit classrooms.
