Career Awareness

The Career Awareness elective is in the 6th Grade Elective Wheel in some (not all) school years.

The goals of the 10-week Career Awareness class are to:

  • help students take control of their future and prepare for college.
  • help students become organized and become better learners.
  • provide students with an opportunity to research careers that interest them, and to begin preparing for them now.
  • help students become aware of real financial issues, and to learn skills that will help them in the future.

Mastering organization skills, thinking ahead to their futures, and learning about career choices helps our students in middle school, high school, college, and beyond.

What Career Are You Interested In?

Would you want to be a teacher, a chef, a doctor, a farmer, a politician, a truck driver, a lawyer, a yoga instructor, a biologist, a professional athlete, an actor, or a politician?

Can you name ten other careers you could choose?
